With a new school year starting, there is another class of teens getting ready to apply for college. One of the best things to have on a college application is a great SAT score. There are quite a few things that can be done to get the highest score possible.
For example, the practice tests through Khan Academy are an excellent resource. Khan Academy has partnered with College Board to provide students with a way to prepare for the SAT. On Khan Academy’s website there are six full-length practice tests available, as well as thousands of practice questions. As if this wasn’t enough, with your PSAT results Khan Academy will provide personalized advice and show the exact areas that need improvement.
Also, our school has after school programs called Math Lab and Writing Lab available to every student. These programs give students time with teachers outside of the classroom for additional help. Math Lab takes place after school in the 9/10 library everyday of the week except for Wednesdays. Writing Lab takes place on the same days in the 11/12 library. Both Labs can help with SAT practice and will prove to be a great resource.
Furthermore, our school has their very own SAT Prep classes. The Prep classes teach subjects math, English, and test-taking strategies in order to prepare students for the SAT test. You can sign up for the sessions that are from 3pm to 5pm or the sessions that are from 6pm to 8pm. Forms to sign up for the classes are available in the guidance office, and the classes start on October 24th.
With these invaluable resources available, preparing for the SAT is accessible and will improve your chances of being admitted into the college of your choice!
